Can you specify a min / max for App -> Chart with Multi Series. If yes, can someone please post some sample code ?

Have a look at this example:

I think it shows an easier method than making a separate app, as you suggest.
You can also specify multiple series with a single plot command.
plot(firstXs,firstYs,secondXs,secondYs);
Then use xlim to set your limits.

Use an array to specify the limits.
xlim([1 7]);
