Hi

I setup a channel on friday evening last week, feeding data from an arduino unit displaying a chart, a matlab chart and a gauge.

I just noticed the chart only displays data from approx the last 36 hours. Is there some limit to data size or time?

I tried setting it to show 10 days, but no difference.

Also the matlab chart only shows the last 36 hours, so same limit seems to apply there.

Hey mate,
The ThingSpeak website only show recent data.

You can use my app https://opens3.net/channel-grapher.html to go back in time.

The ThingSpeak API limit is 8000 data points.

Hope that helps.

Ok, thanks. So if I make the updates less frequent, it will show a longer time back.

No the ThingSpeak website only plots the last two hours.

Reducing the refresh rate will allow you to plot a longer period with a single API query due to the 8000 data point limit per query.

It is simple to do multiple queries and join the data together if needed.

Thomasx,
The Thingspeak field plots have autoscaling x-axis, but you can show very long into the past if there is data. Perhaps there was not any data old enough to show 36 hours or 10 days in your channel. As opens3 says, though the limit for display is 8000 points. He is incorrect about the 2 hours though.

You can also make a plot with a custom x axis scale with the MATLAB visualizations app. Use xlim([min max]).

FYI, MATLAB answers is now the preferred place for community discussion about ThingSpeak topics.
