I am looking for a cost effective way to ring a remote dinner bell. To ring the bell manually, it has a handle and rope that one pulls to tilt the bell and hit the striker. The bell is heavy iron, the length of the pull is about 5 inches. You may have seen a bell like this on old TV Westerns. I would like to be able to pull the ring the bell on demand and also have the ability to program rings to commemorate an important day. The device would need to pull the rope once for each ring for that day starting at the hour of my choosing.
I have limited programming experience but am willing to learn if a solution is available. I also have old lap tops that could be devoted to this.
Any ideas? The only ringers I could find on line were for churches and very expensive.
Thank you for your help
